Four Types Of Blogs That Every Wedding Professional Should Know How to Write

Starting a blog for your business can seem overwhelming at first especially if you are unsure which type of blog will be the best fit. The great thing is you don't have to just pick one style. That is the nice thing about blogging, it gives you the freedom to write content that showcases your amazing wedding business. Exploring the different options will open new doors for you in the blogging world and also help your business to get noticed by potential clients. Ultimately it is a way for you to connect with clients before you ever meet with them.

I’m Cyrena a Digital Marketing Virtual Assistant and owner of Appalora Virtual Services LLC. Creative writing has always been a passion of mine. Now I get to write for a living and it is amazing. I absolutely love my days when I get to sit down at the computer and write blogs for hours. If you are looking to outsource full blog management or ghostwriting to a virtual assistant learn how we can help!

Educational Blogs

Writing an educational blog is a way for you to answer questions a potential client might have. For instance, if you are a wedding planner you might choose a topic such as Top 5 Wedding Trends For A Spring Wedding. Knowing your audience, and what they will be asking Google is the first step to writing an educational blog. SEO keywords will help your blog rank higher on Google and will drive more traffic to your website.

The best way to find out what questions potential clients are googling is to listen and take note of your current client’s questions. When clients ask you questions that you think others would like to know the answers to, write them down as soon as you can. This way when you have time to blog or when you hire a virtual assistant for blogging you have a list of ideas to pull from. A virtual assistant can provide ideas for blogs but you are going to know your clients better than anyone else.

Keep in mind when writing educational blogs it is easy to write too much, although this can be a downside. When a newly engaged couple clicks on your blog to get answers, they want answers, not an entire book to read. You want that happy medium not too short that they barely learned anything but not too long that they lose interest. Most blogs on average are between six hundred and fifteen hundred words.

Real Weddings

Real wedding blogs are a way for you to truly connect with your readers on a personal level. Future brides and grooms love to hear about your experiences with other weddings that you recently planned, photographed, or maybe provided floral arrangements. The bottom line is these types of blogs are so important to include especially if you are a wedding professional.

After a wedding write down notes about the wedding, for example, the main highlights of the wedding. Paint a picture for your readers so they feel like they were there watching the bride walk down the aisle of rose petals, the window panes lined with lighted candles, and babies breathe flowers tied to the white seats with organza ribbon bows on a beautiful 70-degree day in May. You get the picture right? Whichever part you played in the couple's wedding showcase that. This is what engaged couples want to read, they want to hear about successful weddings you had a part in. This is going to help your business grow even more.

Getting To Know You Blogs

This type of blog is great for clients, potential clients, and other vendors to get to know you and your business. Tell a story of how you started your business, and what you are passionate about. Let your readers know the real-life you. People love to read how someone started their business, why they started their business, and what experiences they had that led them to become an expert in their field.

This is a great place to start when you first add a blog to your website. Just make sure when you are writing about your journey of how you started your business that you keep it professional but also personable for your readers to connect with you. You do not have to share every detail of your journey just highlight the key points. Again, like I said before no one wants to read a book when they click on your blog.

Collaborating With Other Vendor's Blogs

Did you know you can collaborate with other vendors in your area by writing blogs about their businesses? For instance, if you are a wedding planner you might want to write about top wedding photographers in the area. Maybe you want to write about their photography style to help your clients decide on which photographer to choose, or maybe a florist or venue. Collaborating with other vendors not only helps clients to trust your opinion but also helps the other vendors book more clients.

Make sure you connect with the vendor you would like to write a blog about first to get approval before you even start writing. This will help to build a good trustworthy working relationship. When writing a blog about their business you want to showcase them in a way your clients would love to hire them. If you highlight an amazing venue in your blog, that venue is going to be more likely to recommend your services to newly booked clients.

Now that you know the reasoning behind each blog type you can get started creating new blogs your clients will love to read. As I mentioned before you do not have to stick to just one blog type, mix it up. Educational blogs answer your client's questions, real wedding blogs showcase your business and your clients, about-you blogs tell your readers who you are and why you started your business, and collaboration blogs get you connected with other vendors and help to build a great working relationship.
